Articles and papers

I have written articles and papers for some of the most influential web-design organizations/publications on the web. Following is a list of some of my favorites.

Web Standards: a Must for HTML Email
A paper written for the W3C HTML Mail Workshop in Paris, France.
Extreme Email Makeovers series
A four-part series in which Mark redesigned and rebuilt email templates with the intent of improving visual design, accessibility and compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act. Vol. IV: Miroballi Shoes, Vol. III: EIU Alumni Association, Vol. II: Trident Communications, Vol. I: Teenie Tiny Tots.
How to test HTML emails
The email environment is volatile and complex, and therefore testing for design integrity and accessibility is quite the feat. But Mark has a good testing-system in place for taking control.
Optimizing CSS presentation in HTML emails
The value of CSS is no less relevant in emails than in websites. While support for it in email clients is more sporadic than in web browsers, successful employment is still attainable.
CSS and Email, Kissing in a Tree
My first article, written for one of the most renowned web-design publications, A List Apart.
Behind the Design: Critique my Website
A print-magazine article for MJSA in which I critiqued a live website, focusing on areas of improvement and what aspects were successful.
